THE HOUDINI FILE CHALLENGE

As all magicians do, we challenge our audience to pay rapt attention. And as all magicians do, we absolutely bank on the fact that the audience is blind - even an audience of magicians!

As you can see from the video, produced for the Mayor of London, you're blind, too. Did you get even one of the 21 scene changes that happened before your eyes?

This video demonstrates "change blindness," the inability to notice changes, big and small, when your attention is manipulated by experts. The consequences of this human weakness are huge; it pervades both art and politics. We'll be exploring it further in future posts.
