Houdini Disguised as a Worm

We’ve written previously of Houdini’s talent for disguise, and of course his ability to worm through keyholes is the stuff of legend (see our own novel, HOUDINI UNBOUND, for some examples).

Well, now the intelligence agencies have Houdini on their screens; like police officials everywhere, they can’t seem to lay a finger on him. Unit 42, the threat intelligence group of Palo Alto Networks, has identified Houdini as the perpetrator of the world’s trickiest computer virus: the HOUDINI WORM.

So far, the cyber-spooks believe the author of the H-worm -- his screen-name is Houdini — is somewhere in Algeria, fluent in French and Arabic. Beyond that, all they really know is that he’s been causing major disruption, running loose in the Cloud since we don't know when....
