SHADOWS ON THE WALL

Something there is that doesn't love a wall: two-thirds of the US voting population, today's surveys say.

So why does our Apprentice-in-Chief want one so badly? Some say it's to divert attention from the four walls of his impending prison cell. 

But we think he doesn't really want a wall at all. He wants a screen. So he can project scary shadows onto it. It's incredibly easy to conjure up apparitions of monsters, demons and mobs, if that's your cup of woe. 

The shadow screen diverts us - compellingly - from true national emergencies: school children being gunned down in broad daylight, opioid addiction rampant, poisoned drinking water and sedition in the White House. 

Mr. Trump, in the words of Ronald Reagan: "Tear down that wall!"
