We have to admit we'd never heard of Arth Wright, the cheerful Cockney scamp featured in this installment of The Amazing Exploits of Houdini, written, it says right there, by Houdini Himself.

As we wrote last week, this series, now an ultra-rare collector's item, ran for several years in the British tabloid called The Kinema Comic. Arth appeared in several of them as Harry's resourceful boy assistant. We're going to guess, until proven otherwise, that Arth is a fictional creation of Harry's ghostwriter, Herbert Allingham. Nevertheless, one has to admit the story is rather charming and Arth is quite likable. Maybe it's Bess, dressed in boy clothes?
