CHEF HOUDINI

Well, of course he could cook! Was there anything he couldn't do?

Our friend Harry even contributed a recipe to The Stag Cookbook, published in 1922. Here it is:

Our long period of being an invalid has finally ended. We're heading for Appleton, Wisconsin this week, and hope to have some new Houdini revelations soon.

  1. Great find David! I think the classic Houdini dish is Hungarian chicken with spaetzles, and bread pudding with bing cherries for dessert.

  2. Sounds delicious! Was that his mother's dish? We're off to Appleton this weekend to visit the Houdini Museum, see the new statue in Houdini Plaza, and photograph his childhood haunts, all for future posts.

  3. I understand the statue was recently unveiled. The recipe was probably Mama's and Bess learned it to keep Harry happy.
